Helping You Live Your Best Life
And
here you are…
I don't have the secret, except to encourage you to keep coming to your classes --to keep practicing when you’re not at class. I don't know what your "success" with this test is going to look like, really --and I don't know when you're going to feel successful, as in “Wow I’m going to ace this!”
I do know, however, for a fact, that success in passes your Black Belt test isn't a trick, a technique, a scam, something you can buy, a long sales letter, the 2 week trial, the occasional visit, or a 9 part Blue ray series that promises and/or guarantees that you'll learn what it takes to be successful. I'm almost 100% certain you're not going to find a shortcut to this particular "success," and if you think you do, at least in the times I thought I'd found one, you end up looking back an realizing you're were as deluded and arrogant as just about every other Sad Sack in the world. But then, that too ends up serving you, doesn't it (hopefully).
All I can really do for you is to encourage you to show up, to engage, to push yourself harder than ever before, to fail, to try again and persevere as close to the next 7 weeks as you can muster. Hopefully, if you're capable, you'll define some kind of success that doesn't make you sick, crazy, or destructive --or worse, injured.
You
have made it this far and to prove how unique you are it’s time I shared a few
things with you. No matter how crushing
it might sound, the statistical, mathematical, scientific, logical, proven,
reality is that most people who join our dojo will never get to the legendary
black belt.
Is
it possible to get a black belt? Of course it is, but probable? Heck No!
Thousands of new students
pass through dojo doors around the world every minute. How many of those even
get to the second belt? How
many get to the third belt? Fourth? Fifth? Sixth? Black?
Do the math. (Answer:
“Not many.”)
It’s just simple
statistics. I’m not trying to discourage anyone. It’s not a plot. But let’s
keep it real here: Just like most businesses fail within two years of starting,
most Karate students don’t get to black belt. They just don’t have the dedication,
willingness or spark that you have.
You should be proud… Very Proud!
I bet you’re glad I didn’t
share that with you in the beginning….
And now the hard part
begins. You got a small taste of it Saturday. I wish I could help you more but this is up
to you.

Best
of Luck to all…
